Irregular brushing, improper flossing or not cleaning tongue can lead to bad breath. It is important to be well aware of proper brushing and flossing. Mouthwashes are the one stop solution for ensuring total oral hygiene. This will help for having your mouth fresh at all times.

Food – Many food items leave a smell in your breath such as onion and garlic. When we eat food, it is then absorbed in or blood and reaches to lungs. And as we breathe the odor is expelled, causing bad breath. It is not possible to brush after every meal for which you may rinse your mouth with water.

This will help in getting rid of food particles and moisten your mouth. Raw parsley is a natural breath freshener so if you have that you can chew on that too.

Dry mouth – It is clear from the term that dry mouth causes bad breath. Dry mouth is a result of decrease in flow of saliva in mouth. There are many factors that can cause dry mouth such as salivary gland problems, exercising, smoking, dieting, excessive talking, speed breathing through mouth or even drinking alcohol.

For this drinking lots of water throughout the day is essential or even chewing candy gums. This process stimulates flow of saliva that would cleanse the mouth and remove particles and bacteria that are responsible for causing odor. Certain medications may also cause dry mouth and hence the bad breath.

Gum disease – Bacterial infection such as periodontal disease happens in gums that support the teeth. People who are suffering from this disease creates a perfect breeding environment for the bacteria to flourish and affect you. The tiny space that is created between your gums and teeth is about 1 - 3 mm. when the gap increases up to at least 5 mm, is where the bacteria resides.

Other medical disorders – respiratory infection, chronic bronchitis, chronic sinusitis, postnasal drip, diabetes and gastric, liver or kidney problems are some of the disease that may give bad breath as a side effect.

2)    Mouthwash can help in getting your teeth clean and white. Rinsing with mouthwash may help you to reduce tartar, plaque and gingivitis. Some mouthwashes have certain ingredients that help in teeth whitening.
