Tips to keep eyes healthy in monsoon and why it is important too?

One of the most essential organs of the human body is his eyes. The eyes are the organs that accept the light reflecting from various objects and provide us the visualization of everything lying around us. Without the presence of healthy eyes, all the colors, beauty, and attractions of this nature become worthless. Therefore, to enjoy the beauty and soothe your inner self with all the natural soothers, you need to take proper care of your eyes.

Whether it be hot or cold, monsoon or another season, the health of the eyes must be given utmost importance. During the monsoon, we tend to enjoy the weather at its peak but usually, forget that our eyes need special care. Several kinds of eye problems are prevalent during the rainy season.

  • Avoid sharing your essentials like handkerchiefs, eye covers, and makeup.
  • Refrain from rubbing your eyes.
  • Be sure to avoid the use of self-prescribed eye drops. Without any professional advice, usage of any eye drop can result in severe eye problems.
  • Avoid eye makeup during infection
  • Refrain from swimming in pools during monsoon to avoid any kind of microbial infection.

These all tips, stand for the precautions that you must take to avoid your eyes from infections or other issues during the rainy season. But precautions are not all, along with taking precautions you must also be aware of your diet. Your diet must have one or more elements that are healthy for your eye’s health. Eating a healthy diet helps to reduce the risk of eye problems during any season to a great extent. The presence of essential eye protection elements in the body ensures the shielding of eyes from any foreign problematic element.

So now, let us look at some of the eating tips, essential for maintaining eye health

  • Avoid intake and consumption of junk, fried, and oily food. Eating such edibles enhances the chances of your eyes getting infected. Also, creates other health issues too to cause more problems.
  • Fill your plate with as many healthy, colorful and leafy vegetables as possible. Consumption of salads is considered to be the best for the maintenance of a healthy body as well as eyes.
  • Eat a variety of fruits and be sure to include eye-healthy fruits like kiwis, avocadoes, etc. Intake of fruits helps the maintenance of proper health essential nutrients.
  • Ensure to include in your diet foods that are rich in Vitamin A(Beta-carotene), omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, vitamin C, vitamin E, etc. All these are found in some edibles like
    • Eggs
    • Yogurt
    • Salmon
    • Beans
    • Legumes
    • Meat
    • Sweet potato
    • Sunflower seeds and nuts
