Home remedies to clear chicken pox marks

Chickenpox is a kind of epizootic viral infection caused by the Varicella-zoster virus. It is common to find this infection in children usually in the first five years of age but adults also get infected by it. This infection is super uncomfortable to stay up with due to the red blisters with rashes that cause itchiness on the skin and pain. The intensity of the infection varies from mild and moderate to severe one. In a severe case, the red painful blisters spread even over the eyes, nose, mouth, and genitals.

Usually, the blisters and pain last for two weeks but once the blisters pop up and the fluid from inside comes out, the affected areas start forming crusts and finally scabs over to heal. But it leaves behind dark or light scars on the skin that is the chickenpox marks. And everyone wants to get rid of these scars.

So, let us look at some of the home remedies that can be used to clear the marks of chickenpox with ease.

  • Lime juice:The vitamin C content of the lime juice provides it with beneficial properties. It aids in collagen production and provides antiviral properties. So, the use of lime extract or juice helps in treating the dark or light scars effectively.
  • Honey: It possesses antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-aging properties which provide it with the various benefits it is known for. Its anti-aging properties help to remove the scars and marks from the skin and moisturize it.
  • Baking Soda:It is known best for its exfoliating properties that aid in the removal of dead skin cells and intracellular debris. Thus it is very effective in gently removing the scars and the scabs of the wound.
  • Oats:Oats are a very well-known edible among health-conscious people. But oats are also very popular for their skin hydrating, healing, and scar removing properties. Apart from these, it helps the skin as an exfoliating, soothing, and cooling agent and relieves any sort of inflammation.
  • Aloe Vera gel: It is known for its anti-blemish and cooling nature. It helps in the regeneration of the cells and goes deep inside the epidermal layer of skin to hydrate it and clean it.
  • Lavender Oil:When used with night penetrating creams, lavender oil goes deep into the skin moisturizes it and relaxes the itchiness, and helps to heal the blisters and its scars. It is well known for its antibacterial and antifungal properties.
  • Avocado:These are rich in fatty acids and vitamin E which provides it with the properties of moisturizing the skin, healing the scars by exfoliating the skin and attacking the intracellular debris, and replicating the healthy lipid layer of the skin.
  • Cucumber: It is an astringent and skin coolant that helps in calming the skin and hydrates and soothes it. When used along with honey and lime it aids in clearing the dark spots and scars from chickenpox.
  • Neem: It contains anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties which help it to fight the infection and heals wounds and blemishes easily. Using it along with lime and honey increases its usefulness and aids in clearing the pox scars.

So, if you are not vaccinated yet, then your chances of catching the virus rise manifold. The virus gets into the system just by breathing or touching the objects which have been in contact with the pox blisters’ fluid.

The vaccine of Varicella is given in two doses to everyone, first at 12-15 months of age and second at five years of age. But if you still haven’t received the vaccines, then adequately get it with an interval of 28 days between two doses.
