We, human beings have five sense organs- eyes-, nose, ear, tongue and skin. The absence of even one of it would bring great casualties. Senses, I would say, is provided to us to make us know the truth and beauty behind every stuff - this very universe. We see through it, hear through it, breathe through it, taste through it and feel through it. These major functions are the reason why we need to take care of our senses.

Hence the blog for today is to let you know how we can take care of our senses. We will simply divide the content into five parts and each part would consist of information about one particular sense organ.

Eyes - How can we take care of our eyes?

Eyes are the major part of our body. We see through it. The information that we store in our mind, we partly receive it through our eyes. There would be nothing but darkness if we not have had the ability to see. It is very important to take care of our eyes if we do not want to loose our eyesight. Here are some ideas on how you can take a good care of it.

You are what you eat. Eat food that benefits your eye-sight. Green- leafy vegetables, omega 3 acids, tuna, salmon would do a great job. Exercise regularly. Obesity leads to diabetes, one of the greatest risk factor of blindness. Use sun glasses whenever necessary. It protects the eyes from the harmful ultraviolet rays. Use could water to cleanse your eyes. Visit the doctor if your family has a history of eye-diseases. Precaution is better than cure.

Ears - How can we take care of it?

Ears provide us ability to hear. We can’t imagine a world without sound. Not being able to hear can make one’s life harder. It is important for us to take care of our ears too. Here are some tips on how you can do that:

The greatest care you can provide your ears is to keep it away from the loud noises as much as possible. Do not plug in earphones with loud audios on. WHO has claimed that over 11 billions of teens and adults are at the risk of hearing loss due to loud noises they incur. Anxiety and stress is not good for our ears. Manage your stress levels. Do not use eardrops without the prescriptions of the doctor. Do not insert sharp metals to cleanse your ears. Try to keep your ears dry. Once in a while, go for an ear check-up.

Nose - How can we take care of it?

Nose provides us the ability to smell. It is a major organ of the respiratory system. Here is some of the easiest way to take care of our nose:

If we want to take care of our nose we need to keep it clean. We should not let dust get into it and by chance if it gets in, rinse it with clean and cold water. Do not poke or dig. The nose is a very delicate organ. Do not smoke. Stay away from areas that are high in pollution.

Tongue - How can we take care of it?

The sense to taste is provided to us by our tongue. Tongue can be of utmost importance when it comes to speak or even to eat. These three reasons are enough as to why we should take good care of our tongue.

Tongue should be cleaned regularly. Use a tongue scraper to clean your tongue. We need to keep our tongue hydrated. Smoking again, is bad for tongue too. Do not put your tongue on stuff that is too hot or too cold.

Skin - How can we take care of it?

Skin enables us to feel. Our whole body comprises of it. We should probably take care of it. Here are some tips on how you can do that:

Take bath regularly. We need to keep our skin clean. Apply sunscreen to protect your skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays. Use moisturisers whenever necessary. Try to keep your skin in shade rather than exposing it to the sun. The sun rays can damage your skin badly. Cleanse your skin after wearing cosmetics. Eat diets that are good for your skin. Avoid junk foods. Get enough sleep and drink least 8 glasses of water every day.


Nothing makes sense without our senses. Hence it is very much important for us to take care of it. Eat diets that are good for our senses. Perform exercises of each particular organ so that you can keep it in check. Once in two months, visit the doctor and look for any complications or changes in conditions of these organs. Avoid activities that hamper our senses. A sensible man must take care of his senses.
